Believe it or not, your tax dollars do NOT cover all of the costs to run the Fair Lawn Volunteer Fire Department. Only a portion of your tax dollars help us. The rest of our operations are funded through donations.
Our firehouse is privately owned. Fair Lawn Fire Company #3 Inc. is responsible for the upkeep and day-to-day operations of the building. In 2000 we underwent a major building renovation in order to accommodate new and larger fire apparatus. Some of our expenses include heat, electricity, general maintenance and upkeep, and a mortgage for our renovation. Your tax dollars do not cover these expenses.
Fair Lawn Volunteer Fire Company #3 solicits residents and businesses within our district for donations to support our operation. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization, so your donation may be tax deductible.
In addition to direct mail, Fire Company #3 hosts an annual fund raising golf outing.
